Guide Dogs for the Blind have been successfully boarding dogs in advanced training at Browngates since July 2008. An appropriate kennel environment is critical to the success of the specialist training programme that these dogs undergo. Browngates have to meet a nationally established criteria and have been visited and approved by our Dog Care & Welfare team. Key factors in deciding to work with Browngates are: low noise levels, spacious accommodation, reasonable fees, all-day opening, minimal overnight 'shut-down' period, run by owners who live on-site, experienced staff and, most importantly, a flexible, helpful and knowledgable approach to dog care and welfare.

You have all been great looking after Lola and Jett and such a comfort to know they were happy during their long stay with you. 
I can not recommend Browngates enough. Their stay was lengthy due to personal circumstances. I believe a real testament to the care they had was their willingness to return and believe me both were very excited to see Chris and Megan and went off very happily without a glance back when I returned them after a short break away from the kennels.
Chris was very helpful and understanding and I cannot thank you all enough for taking such good care of them for me. Although we now live in Wales they will both be returning to Browngates for their holidays.
It will be worth the journey for peace of mind that they will be happy and well cared for. Thank you so much again.

Have taken our labrador puppy, Charlie, (well, he's just over 1 now) to a couple of local places and Browngates is by far the one he most enjoys, The staff are very helpful and friendly - and you get the sense that they really like looking after the dogs (and cats). There are a few long-term boarders there and many returning dogs. Also, it can be very busy during holiday season so worth booking the time in advance. On an even more positive note - Charlie always comes back full of beans, tail wagging and smelling extremely clean, with gleaming fur. All you dog owners will appreciate how nice it is to have a good smelling pooch (at least for a little while).

We have been using Browngates for a few occasions to board our dogs. We cannot fault the level of care and attention that our dogs are given. Most recently, one of our dogs was unwell whilst being cared for by Chris and Sarah at Browngates. The care given was exceptional. Our dog was cared for in their home and given personal attention like she was one of their own. We were given regular updates on the care given. Nothing was too much trouble even when we were so far away from home. We will continue to use the services of Browngates for our future boarding requirements and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Perry, our miniture pinscher has been boarded at Browngates during our holidays since he was a puppy, he's now 6, I'm usually tied up in knots at the thought of leaving him but as soon as the staff come to take him through to the kennels he trots off, tail wagging & not even a backwards glance, hah. He normally stays 2 to 3 times a year. I heard of browngates through word of mouth, I wouldn't send Pezza anywhere else, I know he is happy & Secure which means we can enjoy our time away without having to worry about him. Also he comes home smelling better than when he arrived for his stay lol. Thank you Browngates you are brilliant.

I have used Browngates to board several of my sucessive dogs over the years and they have always provided excellent care. However this last board they surpassed themselves. My dog Podge is a very elderly cairn terrier, he is also hearing and sight impaired and diabetic. As you can imagine I was very anxious about leaving him and concerned how he would cope in a new environment. Browngates were excellent and cared for him in an exceptional way. The staff even called me while I was abroad to query one of his medications which was easily sorted . I was able to relax and enjoy my holiday knowing Podge was being well cared for. On my return Podge was more energetic than I'd seen him for some time! He clearly had enjoyed his own little holiday and was in great condition. I would highly recommend Browngates as a superb boarding kennels where you can be assured your pet will be well cared for.

Was recommended to Browngates by my daughter, Have now used them several times. It comes to something when as you pull up, my dogs recognise the place and can't wait to get out of the car and off they go without a second look back at me.

The kennels are clean, light , airy and even the outside runs are covered over.

We recently boarded our two dogs Cassie and Maisie at Brown Gates kennels. Our previous kennels, which we had used for several years had suddenly become less than efficient, with both of our dogs coming out wet, thin and terribly unhappy. In contrast they have just come out of Brown Gates, with no weight loss, happy and smelling fresh and clean. We have been using Browngates Kennels for over 15 years and could not be more happy with the way Chris,Sarah & Loraine look after our 3 Dachshunds(Standard & Mini) The dogs obviously enjoy themselves as they get very excited when taken to the kennels. My two (young) labradors and two (older) cats have stayed at Browngates many times, both for long and short stays. The standard of accommodation for dogs and cats is very high: good size, clean, warm and secure. The animals always come back as happy and healthy as they were when they went in The staff have a genuine affinity with the animals and I feel very happy leaving them in their care. I feel confident that if any of the animals were to succumb to illness during their stay, then they would receive appropriate treatment and care. It is useful for me to find an establishment that has equally high standards for cats as well as dogs, which avoids the need to send the dogs to one place and the cats to another. Usefully, the dogs can share a kennel. The cats on the other hand, despite being mother and daughter, would kill each other if they shared! I have been using Browngates for nearly two years and have never felt the need to look for alternatives.

I have been taking my West Highland Terrier to Browngates Boarding Kennels since she was a puppy and have been delighted with the care and attention she receives. She has a fantastic time and is always keen to go into the kennels and is always very bouncy and happy on collection. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the kennels are spacious and very clean, and set in nice open surroundings, and the dogs can see each other, making it a very social stay for them. I was very worried initially about using kennels having never used one before but after going to view several in Suffolk found Browngates to be the best I had seen. I called in without an appointment and was delighted with what I saw. Nothing is too much trouble for Chris and his team, and after discussing the needs of my very young puppy and my concerns, they suggested that I board her for a short time initially to make sure she was OK, and I have never looked back as she loved it. I have been using Browngates to board my Westie for over 3 years and I know that whenever I need to leave her she will be well cared for and most importantly happy. I have no hesitation in recommending Browngates Boarding Kennels.
